Hi Maddy, what is your role within the Vivian Construction team?
I am the Business Development Manager but I am involved in all facets of the business, so I also organise events and team get togethers!
- How did your company hear about FAT? What has been your / your teams’ experience with FAT?
Heard about FAT through word of mouth and social media. This week we took part in a morning HIIT session and found it a great way to start the day.
- VIVIAN & FAT are about incorporating movement into workplace, can you tell us more about it? And the reason behind this initiative?
This year I have really been driving mental health and wellbeing at work, which I believe is essential for meeting the needs of our team. We offer a wellness initiative that includes a $500 annual wellness voucher and also get free access to a gym. For Mental Health Awareness Week, which we extended through the month, the team took on individual challenges and celebrated with a workout session and healthy breakfast, instead of the usual beers and pizzas.
- What advice would you give other companies thinking of getting FAT on board?
Starting the day with a team workout is a great way to build energy and morale. It’s hard to go wrong with such a positive kickoff to the workday!
- What else does your employee wellness program involve?
In addition to a $500 wellness voucher for health and wellness expenses and free gym access, we provide three therapy sessions per year and 24/7 access to Clearhead, a mental health and wellbeing app.
In your ideal world, what does wellness in the workplace look like?
A workplace where employees are happy, motivated and feel supported in their wellbeing.
